DIY Perfectly Pumpkin-Scented Soap

This pumpkin spice scented soap turned out pretty perfectly! The scent was nice but it was also pretty subtle. Some suggestions when you are making this soap: 1) Make the soap in maliable molds like the silicon one we have above as it is easier to remove the soap out of silicon than metal 2) keep playing with the ratios of the spices until you find a combination that you find perfect! 3) You will always need more soap colorant than you think you do. Happy soap making, everyone!

You will need:

  • Shea butter soap base (2 lbs of soap base will yield eight 4 oz. bars of soap, or twelve to fifteen tiny bars)

  • Red and yellow, or orange or gold soap colorant

  • Soap, baking, or chocolate mold (recommended!)

  • Pumpkin pie spice, or any preferred combination of chives, cloves, cinnamon, or nutmeg

  • Microwave safe measuring cup w/ spout

  • If using a metal baking tray: knife, warm water, 13x9 inch pan

Microwave soap base in 30 second increments, stirring each time until completely melted. Stir in other ingredients, and pour into soap molds. Allow to cool for fifteen minutes. To remove bars from a baking tray, rest the tray in a 13x9 pan filled with warm water to dislodge the bars before popping out with a knife. Clean up any unclean edges with a knife.
