DIY Candle Holders

Decoupaged Decorative Jars:

These can be used for holding candles, electric tea lights, or fairy lights, standing as a scent dispenser, night light, or simply decoration.

You will need:

Clear glass jars without surface logos or ridges

Foam brushes

Faux leaves (10-20 for each jar)

Modge Podge or other decoupage

Other desired accents, such as ribbons or twine

Newspaper or protective material

  1. Lay down the newspaper on your work surface. If your leaves have plastic veins on them, pull them off so the leaves lie flat.

  2. Using the foam brush, apply a thin layer of decoupage to the outside of the jar, waiting one to two minutes for the surface to become tacky.

  3. Then, using your fingers, press the leaves onto the jar, starting in the middle of the leaf and pressing outwards. Apply 1-2 layers of decoupage on top of the leaf, more if necessary. Do the same with the other leaves, until only sections of 1-2 inches remain uncovered on the jar.

  4. Adorn with your chosen accents, and enjoy the colors of fall in your home!

These jars were pretty easy to make and provide a very cute fall vibe! We thouroughly suggest covering a section of the jar with Mod Podge and pressing the leaf onto it and covering that in another coat of Mod Podge. Also, do not get frustrated if some of your leaves are not perfectly flat against the glass, not all of ours were and the final product still turned out very well!
